Over the weekend, we met up with Segun Olaiya, one of our clients turned partner, and it was an interesting conversation about his Real Estate journey with us. How he went from buying Real Estate from us to getting his friends and co-workers to buy from us.

Hello Segun, how are you doing?
I’m great and you?
I’m Ade from Uvest, so I’m perfect…
(We both laugh).
So Segun, without beating about the bush, why did you buy from us at Uvest in the first place? There are probably over a million Real Estate Companies out there. Why Uvest?
Well, I haven’t really thought about it, I mean, up until I bought my first property with Uvest, I always knew I was going to invest in Real Estate. I just didn’t know when. I just knew that at some point, I was gonna buy.
Yes I quite understand you, but why was it Uvest exactly?
Hmm… (He pauses to think)
I guess I felt comfortable, Uvest made me feel comfortable in their entirety.
When you say comfortable, what do you mean?
You know that feeling you have when you’re about to pay for food or buy new clothes because you know it’s worth it, and you’re comfortable doing it. I’m not so good with words but you understand me, right?
Yes, yes, I do. So after buying with Uvest, what happened?
I got my contract of sales 3 hours later via my email, and I asked the person that introduced me to Uvest to help get the physical copy delivered to me. Within 24 hours, I was allocated my property virtually and about 5 months later, I had my physical allocation done. Smooth, no wahala. (Chuckles)
How did you get into selling for Uvest?
You see ehn, If someone had told me I would be selling Real Estate two years ago, I swear I fit deck the person.
(We both laugh).
Why?
Real estate has been bastardized out there, and I was doing really well for myself amidst the whole inflation saga. So, I never really thought I needed to sell Real Estate to survive. Selling Real Estate is now more like a hobby that I use to generate passive income every now and then.
Nice! How much have you made from selling Real Estate so far?
Well, I started 4 months ago, so I’ve made over N800k with taxes and all.
N800k in 4 months, that’s mind-blowing!
It is oh, it sure is!
So you went from buying Real Estate to selling it?
I wouldn’t phrase it as selling sha, I would phrase it as offering value –
Really?
Yes! People will give you money when you offer them value. Everyone knows Real Estate has premium value anywhere in the world.
I agree. Is it also that you started closing deals immediately when you got into Real Estate?
Sort of, I already had the network. I just learned how to present it in a better and relatable way to them, through branding – thanks to Uvest.
So Uvest taught you how to sell Real Estate?
