Lekki Deep Sea Port; One of The Wonders of Epe

Lagos State launches one of the biggest ports in West Africa.

There have been a number of shocking and exciting events in 2022; many of which are unprecedented. One of the most consistent bodies to pull such off in 2022 is the Lagos State Government.

On the 1st of July, 2022, “MV ZHEN HUA 28” made her mark as the first vessel to cross the Indian Ocean from China to Nigeria. The ship arrived with cargo handling equipment for one of the biggest ports in West Africa – The Lekki deep sea port.

Lekki deep sea port is situated in the Lagos State Free Trade Zone – well around the Ibeju-Lekki to the axis of Epe, Lagos State.

The port was granted to Tolaram to build and operate for 45 years. Tolaram in turn appointed the biggest marine engineering company in the world (China Harbour Engineering Company) to build the deep sea port and it is set to be completed later in the year.

In West Africa, the Lekki deep sea port is only rivalled in size and capacity by a handful of other ports in Togo, Cote D’Ivoire, Cameroon and Ghana.

While the port is not fully operational yet, it is in line to be by the end of the year 2022 – and is expected to provide $200 billion to the government exchequer and create over 150,000 new jobs.

You can read more about the project here.

What does this mean for private individuals?

Earlier this year, we published a short article highlighting one of the major projects of the Lagos state government in Epe.

We also made reference to This Day’s Live mention of Lanre Razak, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, where he said in an interview with journalists that the Epe division in Lagos State will be the largest and biggest industrial base in Lagos state by 2023.

The state government has been doubling down on this and it is reflected by the quality of projects ongoing in the Epe axis – one of which is the Lekki deep sea port.

These projects commissioned have made Epe a huge ground for developmental growth and increased the worth of properties. Like every area dominated by massive infrastructural projects, the residential aspect turns out to be a major issue.

Uvest has solved this issue with major foresight and planning. While the government and private companies are creating infrastructural projects, Uvest acquired 25 acres of land to be developed into a residential luxury mini-city called “Millenial City”

Millennial City is strategically close to the roadside and less than 20 minutes away from the major projects in Epe. That’s not the only thing;

Millennial City is designed for young people with an appreciation for art and culture. The estate is designed to stand out and become a landmark in Epe itself.

While Uvest is not just solving the residential problem in Epe, it is doing that by creating a luxury estate that’s unique – and right there in the middle of the biggest projects in Nigeria, and even West Africa.

Some major landmarks near Millenial City and their distance measured in time:

  • 21 minutes from Isimi Lagos
  • 18 minutes from Ketu, Epe roundabout
  • 12 minutes from the Food Hub
  • Less than 20 minutes from:

Lagos State University of Education, Fish Farm Market, Epe resort and Spa, Alaro city

While the government is doubling down on making Epe the biggest industrial axis in the state, we’re contributing our quota to balancing quality living for young people.

We’ve opened Millenial City for acquisition – enquiries are open, and you can secure a piece before lands in Epe get harder to acquire.
