In 2021, the Governor of Lagos State, Sanwo Olu delivered a speech on the Budget for the year which he titled; BUDGET OF REKINDLED HOPE.

Among many things, he mentioned that quality healthcare remains an important thrust of his administration’s agenda and they are cognizant of the fact that healthy people build healthy economies.

One of the many ways they hope to achieve this is by flagging off the construction of a state-of-the-art Psychiatric Hospital at Ketu-Ejinrin, Epe.

Three months back, “This Day Live,” wrote extensively on the achievements of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu thus far.

In their words, “When the Governor took over office, he placed a premium on T.H.E.M.E.S, which represents Traffic Management and Transportation; Health and Environment, Education and Technology, and Security, all targeted at making Lagos great.

Precious Ugwuzor reports that under his health agenda, this administration has immensely invested in the upgrade of public health facilities to enhance access to quality healthcare.

It was further stated that Approval has been given for the construction and equipping of a 1,500-bed Psychiatric Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre at Majidun in Ketu Ejinrin, Epe.

On the 25th of August, 2022, This Day Live, further reported that, before this day, the Governor flagged off the construction of what might come to be known as the largest Food Security Systems and Central Logistics Park in sub-Saharan Africa, in Epe, Lagos.

Aside from this, He also visited the site of the State-owned Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital in Ketu-Ereyun, where he inspected the level of construction work on the project.

On the 24th of August, the Governor on His Facebook account expressed his joy on the progress so far with the construction of the Psychiatric Hospital at Ketu- Ejinrin, Epe.

He further explained that the hospital was conceived to deal with rising cases of mental health issues in our communities, for easy early identification and proper care, management, and treatment.

He pointed out that the development of the Dangote oil refinery, the Free Trade Zone, higher institutions, large-scale fertilizer industries, and other industries coming up in the area would boost socio-economic development in Epe.

He went on to explain that Epe would have a fair share of industrial development with time.
